First task

Workspace, sessions, files, permissions, and your first task.

Choose a workspace

The workspace is the scope the digital worker can read and write. Choose a project folder on first use; files, commands, and outputs stay inside it.

  • Use a separate folder for each project to avoid mixed context.
  • Do not choose an entire disk or a system folder.
  • The Messages space is a control directory for communication, not a workspace.

Create a session

Create a session in the left sidebar and enter your task. The top bar lets you switch models, view token usage, and open settings.

Three common modes:

  • Execute: start working immediately.
  • Analyze: read-only discussion and advice; no file changes.
  • Task: create a trackable, verifiable task.

Files and paste

  • Upload files or drag them into the session.
  • Paste Excel ranges and images.
  • Use @ to reference workspace files so the digital worker reads them first.

Permission cards

When a sensitive action is needed (run a command, edit a file, access an external folder), a permission card appears:

  • Allow once: only for this action.
  • Always allow: add to the allowlist under the current policy.
  • Deny: stop the action and explain why.

If an enterprise security policy is active, it takes precedence over personal settings.

Writing a good task

  1. State the goal and deliverable.
  2. Point to input files or folders.
  3. Define acceptance criteria (format, scope, exceptions).
  4. For long tasks, ask for a plan before execution.

Review the result

Results appear in the session; save anything you need to keep into the workspace. In task mode, submission records and verification results are also generated.
