Windows
The download center offers two options:
- Online installer: download
ClerkBit.applicationand follow the prompts. Best when the internet is reachable. - Offline package: download the zip, extract it locally, and run
install.cmd. Best for intranets or when online install is blocked.
Requirements:
- Windows 10 or later
- .NET Framework 4.8
- WebView2 Runtime (the installer checks and prompts)
Do not copy only Clerk.exe out of the offline package; keep the folder structure intact. First sign-in still needs connectivity.
macOS
Choose the package for your chip:
- Apple silicon:
Clerk-Bit-<version>-osx-arm64.dmg - Intel:
Clerk-Bit-<version>-osx-x64.dmg
macOS 15.0 or later is required. If the system blocks the first launch, allow it in System Settings → Privacy & Security, and grant Documents, Downloads, and Desktop access.
Verify the package
The download center shows file size and SHA256. On Windows:
Get-FileHash .\Clerk-Offline-<version>.zip -Algorithm SHA256
On macOS:
shasum -a 256 Clerk-Bit-<version>-osx-arm64.dmg
If installation fails
- Security software blocks it: allow the installer or add it to the allowlist; use the offline package on an intranet.
- ClickOnce is disabled: use the offline package, or ask IT to enable ClickOnce.
- macOS will not open it: allow it in Privacy & Security; if it still fails, re-download and check the OS version.
- Intranet proxy 407: allow
admin.clerkbit.comfor online install; the offline package does not use the network. - WebView2 missing: install it from the prompt or from Microsoft.
